“Growing up in Portsmouth and living by the sea was the main reason I was taught to swim. I worked my way through the local club, Portsmouth Northsea, winning medals at counties through to nationals, Europeans to Commonwealth Games and becoming World Champion in 2003. Reaching my ultimate goal of swimming in finals at the Olympic Games (2000/2004). Achieving such heights in a sport I love inspired me to set up my own swim academy in 2010, with the aim to give back to my community and get children swimming. With a passion for swimming, both teaching and taking part I think it’s an invaluable life skill that everyone should learn”.
